This Asgard-bred bay is an exciting junior stallion for us.  He's a tall (16h) beautiful horse with an exceptional temperament.  His sire is the Russian bred international race champion Sambist, famed for his distance ability, durability, and soundness.  His dam is our finest Russian mare, Statura, a maternal half-sister to Statistic.  Stratagem's pedigree reflects line breeding to the great race sire Topol, making him an ideal cross to certain of our mares, especially *Moment daughters and Bandjo daughters. 

He started his endurance career with gifted trainer-rider Judie Ricci of Meadow Springs Training Center, who brought out the best in him (see photos at age four).  Then he took time off for stud duties, siring seven foals in 2008, and covering ten mares for 2009.  He is currently on lease to well-known rider Heather Reynolds in California

He is available at public stud by frozen semen (Select Breeders Service in Maryland) at a fee of $1,000.  He might have limited live cover availability in California, if his competition schedule permits.
